Sunglasses

Whats your Brand and why? i have WX Love em but time for another set.

I never spend more than $20 on a pair, after sinking a $150 pair of SMITHS in the Neversink...

So lesson learned.. only buy sunglasses as long as they are cheap, have rubber grips on the arms and a rubber nose piece..

Smith/Action Optics. Mine are prescription and fit well. A couple years ago I was playing in the pool with my kid, they fell off, I stepped on them and broke the frame. I over-nighted them to their repair place and asked them to call me for payment arrangements. Two days later I had them back with a brand new frame (lenses were fine) at no charge. They didn't even ask me to pay for shipping. I'm now a loyal customer and about to order a new pair because my script changed.

I have a pair of Smith/Action optics but I have to tell yah... I tried on a pair of Maui Jim HDR's and purchased them on the spot.

Or you can get a nice pair of Oakley Frogskins.

Don't like the Oakleys myself. Having to wear prescription vs those that don't is a big difference. They all make some fine glasses, but Smith got my loyalty with their customer service and warranty. Why switch over something that works?

Ray Ban Wayfarer with polarized lenses. And if you are afraid of losing your glasses attach a strap to them.

Well you will find cataract surgery will be way more expensive than the money you saved on cheap glasses.

My ophthalmologist said to get the best pair you cam buy due to the UV being stronger than ever. She said make sure they are 100% UVA and UVB. She suggested Maui's and Costa's. I have a pair of Costa's with the magnifier lens on the bottom and a pair of Smith's, I can see better into the water with the Costa's. But that just may be me and no reflection, (pun intended) on the glasses.

Had Smith/Action optics and the service was great and so were the glasses. Last time around though, I went with Tumi. The luggage people make the most comfortable glasses I have ever worn. Check them out.

i just picked up a pair of these Costa Del Mar's in 580G glass in green mirror finish..a bit on the pricey side however these run laps around anything ive ever tried. u cant imagine the clarity until you experience it yourself.
well worth it.

I hava a pair of the 580G Costas, pair of Smith Polarchromics, and 2 pairs of Oakleys (polarized blue iridium and high intensity yellow). All are glass except for the Oakleys. The Costas and Smiths are pretty awesome, however the Oakleys are a surprise. Even though they're not glass, the clarity and sharpness are superb, just as good as the glass lenses, in some cases better. The fit is also excellent, they're light and stay snug even without straps. Surpised that more people don't wear them.

580 Costa's hands down! I have and have used Smiths, Ocean Wave, Oakley and Maui Jim. For either fresh or saltwater use I use the Costa's. Cost is over the top but so are some of the others.

In my experience I have been a Action Optics fanatic since 1995, before Smith acquired them. At one point I had seven pairs of Action Optics all were Glass Polarchromatic. The lens choices were Amber ,great for overcast days. The other was Brown till they came out with Copper, when they released the copper lenses I sold the brown lenses and replaced those with copper photochomatic. The styles I had were the Pilot with removable side shields and Lost River. If I had my choice I would have preferred that Action Optics/Smith had never discontinued the Pilot frames with the removable side shields . In 1998 I bought my first and only pair of Costa Del Mars they are polarized photochromatic glass with Vermillion lens. They have a built in kind of sideshield with glass in them as well. In 1998 I had a guide bag in my car ,and my car was broken into lost my guidebag to a thief. So I replaced the optics with more Action Optics Lost River Glasses. Currently I have the Costa Del Mars that didn't get stolen ,a pair of Lost River in Amber, and a pair of Lost river in copper. I guess what I am asking now is what Color do you prefer. My favorite is Copper for medium to bright sunny days, Amber for overcast, and grey for Saltwater.

That's ironic..

$190 for Costa Del Mar's in 580G?? I'm with Trout Guy on this one..have lost far too many pairs of polarized glasses at the bottom of rivers to pay that kind of money sunglasses. cataract smataract

Percisely, that is what health insurance is for! :D

I'll be rockin' cheap knock off Rayban wayfarers on the Delaware this year..

After trying many...Polarized Bolle, they are relatively cheap, let in enough light to see through the water....

One option you may want to look at is H3o polarized. I bought a pair 4 years ago at somerset and have been very happy with them. Each model comes with 3 separate lenses covering all fishing conditions.they introduced a less expensive version of their sunglasses which still come with 3 interchangeable lenses as well as a case, lens cloth, and a loop to hold the glasses for you folks that drop them in the river all the time. They also have a lifetime warranty which is excellent at these price points. I have a pair of costs and smiths but I keep coming back to these glasses for most of my fishing.

H3O Polarized - Polarized Sunglasses - Interchangeable Polarized Lenses

I've found yellow lenses are by far the best for low light. The Oakleys I have are amazing, but are difficult to find. I have have a pair of Smith's with the interchangeable lenses that I use for bike riding that also come with polarized yellow. These also rock for low-light conditions. My Smith polorchromic ambers are best for all-around.

And the rest of you stretch your short T-Rex arms into your deep pockets. Pony-up for good glasses and wear a strap to retain them, you only get one set of eyes. You're an F'n dipshit if you don't do this with expensive shades.

Way to win hearts and minds:)

Hearts and mind, schminds. People ask stupid questions they already know the answers too. What kind of boat should I use on the Delaware? What kind of glasses should I get? What kind of rod should I get? Unless you're a complete noob, the answer is get the best shit you can afford. And you know this. Bitches. :kaioken:

Real men don't wear waders. A pair of Chucks and blue jeans is what you wade with, man-up. And why are you fishing up there anyway? Those fish are too hard to catch. Best stick to the Pequest, Musky or SB. I'll provide GPS coordinates to all the best spots if you like, and spoon feed you exactly what fly to fish and how to cast it.

You better, because without that he does not have a clue

I'm a big fan of Blueblockers (as seen on tv). When I saw the commercial I "acted now" and I got a second pair and all I had to pay was seperate shipping and handling.

How cool is that!

Raybans for the beach. Maui Jim's with the amber lenses for fishing. On my 2nd pair of Maui's in the last 17 years...and it probably would be one pair if I'd sent back my 1st pair that broke after the fell off the tailgate of my jeep....after 12 years of loyal service. And I wear them everyday as I suffer from dry eyes that make them light sensitive, I wear them almost all the time when driving during the day, even during light rain. Can't beat Maui's.

Can you tell me where to put my driftboat in as well...thanks
