Speckled trout recovery

I saw streams this weekend that looked beautifully fishy with the runoff, but know that they were nearly dry last year. Assuming they even held trout, how long does it take a stream/brook to recover from a dry year?

I think u are underestimating the ability of wild trout to survive. If the stream held wild trout last year- it likely still does and the fish are fine. The fish are far more resilient then people give them credit for if left alone by people during times of stress like last summer.

I not suggesting they don't survive, but assuming in a tough year that some die and fewer spawn, what typically does it take to bounce back to a normal population level in brooks or small streams?
