Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Slow on the West Branch, but ....

Hi,

You get the feeling that bugs are about to go crazy up here right now.

The last two days saw a few bugs in great variety, but not lots of anything.

It can be fun fishing, but not easy. This is when the big browns will pick off anything on top they can get. But don't expect many of them. Floated the East Branch on MOnday and got four fish. All nice ones and all on top, but there weren't many chances.

The West Branch seems a bit ahead as far as hatches. Did see a couple (exactly 2) hendricksons on the East Branch.

The blue quills have been okay on the West, but fish have been tough to find.

Mainstem has also been on the slow side.

We could use some rain to prop up the flows and cool things down. The cooler water would delay and spread out the hatches.

I expect Hendricksons in numbers after the next rain or early next week.

Well, back to scouting around with the fly rod. It is a tough job, but somebody has to get out there and find out where the fish are. I are a guide after all!!!!!
