Scadden's McKenzie Drifter 2 or 3 person pontoon boat for sale.

Set up for 3, easily converts to a 2 or even 1 person. Hardly used, like new condition complete with 2 side storage bags, two air pumps (electric & manual), anchor, seats, stripping basket, front and rear leaning brackets, oars. Only weighs 85 lbs. In blue.

$2000.00

Email, PM or call.

Wow, this is ironic. My old man and I just bought a red McKenzie Drifter last night. It's setup for a 2-man. I have a question for you about these boats if you wouldn't mind answering me. Can you convert it into a 3-man just by adding a 3rd frame section? It seems that's how they are designed.

Good luck on the sale, sounds like a pretty good deal.

Ryan,

I think you can, but I bought mine as a 3 man set-up from the start. There's a little more to it than just a frame section for the 3rd guy. There's a seat, pedestal, floor and leaning brace. I'm also not sure if there was or is more than one pontoon length. 13' or better is the number you'd need for a 3 man.

It is a good deal for someone who's looking for a versatile inflatable. I originally bought it with the idea to use it in my business. I used it a couple of times and decided it wasn't the best for commercial use. Since I bought it at wholesale I'm passing on the savings.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I realized about the seat, pedestal, floor and leanbar are all part of the equation. I was just trying to be brief when I wrote 3rd frame section. The boat is a 13' pontoon and in looking at the frame it does look like it's built to convert.

I'm very excited to use it. At first down by me on the Middle Delaware for smallies (my Dad lives along the D) as well as the Middle Lehigh for trout and smallies but I'd like to branch out to trips up to the W. Branch and Main Stem. My old man has had some leg and foot problems the last few years and its not easy for him to wade many places anymore so I'm excited to be able to operate this boat and get him into fish & cover water a little more easily. I'm going to be the permanent oarsman I think.

Again good luck on the sale, these boats are awesome and becoming much more popular in the East with the general angling public so I think you'll sell it in short time.

You weren't by any chance fishing on the WB this past Saturday, were you?

Ha, no why, did another douchebag go right over your drift again?

I'm obviously new at it but I do have common sense and try not to be rude to other anglers on the water anyway. I did pick up on the proper etiquette of making the effort to pass thru behind wading anglers or other boats working rising fish.

Dennis, You must have run into the knuckleheads in the new model blue Scadden...

The guys in the scadden that you mention, Joe, passed us with no issue. I think they were trying to get off the river.

The guys I'm talking about were in this beast. They pulled up 30 feet behind Macfly and started casting then the other douche got out of the boat and went downstream (slightly) of Macfly. There were fish everywhere on the river this past Saturday but these guys had to squeeze in. UnFing believable.

We also ran into another team of idiots in a drift boat (Hyde). We were going to go through one of the side channels. Someone in a pontoon boat was there so we anchored up to let him fish and figured we'de wait until he was through. These other two meatheads came through right on top of me. I had to ask them what they were doing because they were so close.

There really should be a river etiquette class before anyone is allowed to float the river. If it was recreational people, I don't really care but as fishermen, they need a lesson.

Here's a nice brown I caught just upstream from where these goons were. That water was freezing!!! Thanks Paul!

Dennis,

Nice legs...

The guys I ran into were different guys. It was actually Friday now that I think about it. They behaved the same as the guys you ran across, or rather ran across you.

On another note, you should have seen the guys on the West Branch on Saturday. Two twits in jet boats come screaming up the river. They screamed right through water that several guys were fishing nearly hitting one of them. They had fly & spin rods with them. These are the boats they had: Mokai Manufacturing Inc.
The PA Fish & Boat Commission is currently investigating.

I got to get one of those, I can fish and my buddy can water ski at the same time.

Using one of those on the West Branch, twit is the right word. But that thing does look like it would be a lot of fun say...way off in Maine?

Better yet, don't allow driftboats and pontoons on the WB (or EB) if the flow is less than 1000cfs. There's absolutely no need for them and that would put an end to this b.s.

I was on the water recently. It was a virtual ghost town for a change, yet 6 boats (some guided, some not) still had to anchor up just above and below me to fish. I'm standing there like WTF? There was open water for a mile downriver and probably that upriver too, but the sobs had to anchor right up where I was fishing and there they remained for hours. I eventually got disgusted and walked well upstream of them to find room to fish comfortably. This with no one else on the river. There's no excuse. It's freakin' ridiculous and why I barely fish the place anymore.

Etiquette classes? You can't teach ###holes etiquette.

Then all of those would be floaters will be standing next to you from April-Oct at the few access points on the river (The river hasn't been over 1k in a long time). While I feel your sentiments with these turds that gang raped you, it's not only the drifters that will give you the problem. Go stand in Cairns on a Saturday afternoon in July to see what I'm talking about! The only fish in the Beaverkill just happen to be in that pool and the fishermen know it!

Before those 2 A#@bags got in our way on Saturday I managed to catch this guy. Took about 30 minutes to get him to go (at one point I told dennis I might have to throw an M-80 in:)). He was close to the bank poking his head out of the water steadily taking Sulphur duns (about a size 14) It was a tough cast for me as he was holding behind a small log that created some flat water for him to hold in. Between me and the fish was about 35 feet of varying current speeds. The flat water was about 4 feet total. I could get the fly over him but most of the time the current would drag it away too fast. I was determined to catch this fish even though there were several fish working in the main run that would have been an easier task. I knew when I made the final cast that he was going to take. The fly stayed drag free for about 5 seconds and up came his head to take it in. Great fight ensued before he came to the net. Dennis snapped the photo before I released him back to play another day. Did I mention how much I love flyfishing:)

Nice fish. Man, I never thought registering a non-powered pontoon boat would be this much of a PIA. My father just got done telling me that the lady at the notary asked for a title. He said he didn't have one because the former owner never registered the boat in NJ since it was not required of a non-powered boat. She says oh no NJ issues titles for non-powered boats (well no shit, it can be done but isn't required and apparently the words "not required" is beyond her understanding.) He had all the other stuff: our bill of sale, manufacturer's certificate of origin, even the original bill of sale from when the previous owner first bought it. She was stuck on the mythical title from NJ.

I wasn't there and none of it made sense to me so I checked the PFBC site about registering & titling these boats. Indeed, in lieu of a previous title it seems all we need to do is fill out the application, & as long as we have the manufacturer's certificate of origin and a signed bill of sale between the seller and us we should be able to get this done. Anybody have any experience with going thru this type of scenario in PA?

Ryan,

Unless you're going to put a motor on it, just buy a PA launch permit. Zero hassle.

Oh I know that and I actually have two current launch permits (never put them on my yak or single man 'toon) that haven't expired but we're thinking of registering & titling it for theft purposes and occasionally we may at least put trolling motor on it for local lake use or even a small outboard.

I just want to get the darn thing in the water and start using it!

This pontoon is still available. Here's a picture of a red one. The one for sale is blue and currently set up as a three person.

There was a guy looking to buy a Scadden or Outcast on another site, I pointed him in your direction yesterday.
