Ramsey Outdoor Store hosts Cabin Fever Day

Andy

Just finished a River Runs Through it!
Each year I look forward to the Ramsey Outdoor Store Cabin Fever Day as it's a chance to view some interesting programs, watch other fly tyers, pick up a few items I need, and reunite with old friends. Not to mention the fact that they oftentimes hand out money-saving discount cupons at events like this. When I didn't see anything posted on their Paramus store website, and didn't read anything on fishing website forums, I decided to give the store a call. My fears were that they might be cutting expenses and not have one this year because of the economy.

I don't know why it hasn't been publicized better, but Ramsey will indeed hold a Cabin Fever day next Saturday, February 25th with programs starting at 10:00 am. I spoke with someone in the fishing department who wasn't too explicit but told me that Aaron Jasper and Ben Turpin will be two of the speakers. If you haven't been there before, the programs are always interesting and unlike Somerset, the setting is more intimate.

If it was Ramsey's intention to keep this event a secret, I just hope they aren't mad at me for letting the cat out of the bag!!

The Cabin Fever days are okay and the few times that I have tyed I had a good time. Not planning to do the Ramsey shows anymore since I am doing an event with LL Bean with my TU Chapter, Then in the Spring I give casting Lessons down at the Orvis Store here in South Jersey. For me I get to stay closer to home and do not have to drive almost two hours to an event. Sorry to hear that they did not promote the event well. One weekend away and you think an add or flyer would have been posted by now.

Thanks for posting. I was wondering if they were going to hold it again this year myself. It was pretty well publicized last year.

I attended last year and plan on heading up there this coming Saturday.

I used to be on their email list but evidently no longer am. At first I emailed the Paramus store but didn't get a reply; that's what prompted my phone call. I wonder why they didn't wait until the morning of Cabin Fever Day to announce it?

Went to Cabin fever, saw some old TU people I know and sat for 2 of the seminars. Ben Turpin and Joe D's
both were real good and informative. Didn't stay for Aaron's because I've seen his a few times this last year.
Paramus used to run like 3 or 4 weekends, I guess its too much money for them now.
