Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Pre-holiday fly swap.

I posted pictures of all the flies I received in the last swap. I thought they were great and wanted everyone to see the tying skills on this board.

Tom.... Put me down for the Brindle Chute for this swap. It's a Chuck Stranahan parachute pattern that has been very successful for me. I made a point of visiting Chuck at his fly shop in Hamilton Montana when I was there over the Summer. He's a great guy who spent a lot of time sharing his knowledge with me about that fly and demonstrated a lot of his techniques at the vise to the point that we pushed past closing time. He's a class act, and I'll try to do his fly justice.

Sunsignarcher................. Dandelion Fly
Lightenup ...................... Adams Parachute
CTobias
Barleywine......................Brindle Chute
Trico Mike
Golden Beetle
Tomfly........................... CDC Caddis Pupa

Apparently Oliver10 does not want to tye for the swap.

Hahaha sounds cool, but with less than an year of tying under my belt I'm with Ollie on this one..no one wants my crap

BS. I have less than one yr. under my belt. Just tie.

Doin stuff like this can only make you better.

if u put something on a hook and don't like it cut it off. Instead of tying 12 shitty flies when your learning a pattern tie 1 perfect fly 12 or even 20 times if you have too. Doing that will speed up the process in a big way.

Trout Fever, you are definitely missed around here.

But your flies are not.

So if Tomfly let's you in the swap, Beetle is out of the swap.

Are you really going to start with this ruse again, you, and all of us know damn well you aren't tying any flies........now go find some nice videos to post......:thumb:

and nice to see you Trout Fever.....and your flies, join the swap!!!!!!!

OK put me down for hot wire caddis and Goddard caddis (figure two mediocre flies equally 1 decent fly)[/QU

It is your choice on how many patterns you want to tye. Typically the way that a swap works is each participant ties one fly a of a certain pattern for each person in the swap. Let me know what to put you down for.

We have 11 in the swap let me know what fly the rest of you are tying. Thursthouse has chosen 2 patterns. You don not have to tye 20 flies . Just chose one.

When do these have to be tied by? We need to have a cutoff of the amount of people, these fancy flies you guys want don't tie themselves and take a lot longer than smaller bugs.

I will probably tye a green peacock. It is a hairwing type salmon fly that worked great for me this year on the salmon river.

Tobias....if you tie those fancy things for the swap(you know with the married wings and so on)......I will owe you a dinner at the drive through......Trico Mike....make me a butterfly, and same for you!!!!!:)

You both will have to pay for your sodas, but I will get the food....I'll even throw in a free apple pie!!!!!

You will have to send me a free food voucher so I can use it here. Haha.

Anyways. I think I can swing tying you guys up some married wings. I will tie them on some smaller spey hooks so you guys can actually use them for those small trout you have back East. :)
