Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Hey guys

Question to the weathered veterans of the site

I was thinking about this forum and it's affect on people and their explorations.

Things I see and read here sometimes help me develop adventures of my own.

Example; I would have never have gone to or even know about the Flatbrook if it wasn't for you guys. It's not my favorite stream, but still.

There are many great places that many of you fellas have guided me to, and I really appreciate this community for that.

Now my question.

How have I affected any of your' adventures? Has anyone's plans of adventures been altered in any way because of what I've said here?

Because, I know what I've read here, has helped me become the fisherman I am today.

CMM,
For me its not so much the adventures, but the subtle nuances on technique, flies and in plain sight places that you can pick up…..
if you can learn to read between the lines. NEFF is by far, the greatest bunch of degenerantes the I have ever had the honor of being a part of.
The trick is to not be "long on mouth and short on ears"

I cannot comment on CMM's question, because I am still a NOOB, but I can agree with Mads, third to my kitchen staff, and my close friends!!!!:)

you have affected me profoundly as i never want to go to the Neversink for fear of running into you.

In that case CMM, take a long walk off a short pier.......

This quote right here is why I don't give out too much information anymore. For fear of people like the mountain lady showing up at places I enjoy fishing, and ruining that experience

You haven't. Stop thinking so highly of yourself, you arrogant twit.

Some of the people on this site have had an influence on flies that I tie and fish, and also made realize certain trout waters that I have never fished. Speaking of the Neversink, I have lived in Northwest NJ for 40 years but have never fished it - maybe I should. Despite some of the personal BS that takes place, there is a ton of information on this site. I do miss some of the regulars from a couple of years ago but things change.

And speaking of the Flatbrook, there is a 4.5 mile C&R stretch, artificial lures only, that replaced the fly fishing only but general kill stretch as of January 1, 2014. The water has wild populations of brook and brown trout and the C&R regs should expand that population and allow for more holdovers of stocked trout. The Ken Lockwood Gorge also had the same C&R regs go into effect 1/1/2014.
