Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

More fracking earthquakes

I, am not aware of any energy providers in our area that provide for you choosing the purchase of energy based on how it is generated. But I would be interested if it is available.

Where do you live? Most providers in the northeast have green options or allow you to choose a mix. One of the benefits of (perish the thought) deregulation:)

FF, just look at it this way...

You didnt create any natural gas... Sellable gas.

Ok?

So you dont own it.

We all do.

Ok?
Your last post made me wonder if it was my birthday...
This one makes it seem to be my birthday and Christmas all wrapped up together...

But, let's not let the communist silliness obfuscate your rationalization as to why you willingly pay the drilling companies to unleash the environmental "horrors" you believe they do...

One thing at a time...

Merry christmas, happy birthday.

I own a condo and there are no alternatives.

I dont choose.

"I don't choose".

This statement is what you use to defend your supporting the energy industry. As if your situation (the condo) DICTATES that your deeply held belief, that gas and oil extraction is detrimental to the physical environment and the humans and other animals in it, be subdued and suppressed. In fact, you feel that your condo, as well as your vehicle, I suppose, FORCE you to act in OPPOSITION to your deeply held belief(that you loudly proclaim the REST of us should embrace).

You HAVE made a choice. You are a man who HAS choices, GB. You don't have to live in that condo and drive that vehicle or use all that electricity, etc., etc. You CHOOSE to do that.

You KNOW you have options as to where you can live and HOW you can live. You CHOOSE not to do that.

Let's suppose you owned, I don't know, 10 acres up here in the sticks of NY. That would be MORE than enough land that you could support a small family, without the use of fossil fuels. You could be a beacon of what is right and good, for the rest of us.

Here, from the Huffington Post:ItcanbedoneGB2.jpg
Homesteading Quantified: How Much Land You Need To Go Off The Grid

Would you do that, GB?

Of course not, or you would be...

You enjoy the lifestyle that you currently live. You claim to espouse a holier than thou love for the earth and humanity, but you don't live it. You, as the rest of us, live a life where we pay for gas and oil and electricity to do the selfish little things we like to do, like drive a hundred and fifty miles to go fishing, stay up late at night on a computer to write about fishing, hop on a train to go to work each morning, turn the lights on so we don't bump into the furniture...

You trade what is in your "soul" for moments of selfish pleasure and convenience.

So you pay for the fracked gas, you pay for the fracked methane, you pay for the frack supported electricity... The energy companies thank you. But in return you blame them, the support industries and even the landowners who own the gas and oil, for the choice you make every day... to pay them, for your choice of lifestyle...

Do they regulate your personal choices, GB?

Yes. Economic choices, definitely yes.

That is our Constitution, whether you agree with the Framers or not.

But the federal power to regulate commerce is plenary.

Guys like Madison and Hamilton wrote that, and I dont understand why you have a problem with it.

But not THESE choices, GB.
They don't force you to live in that condo.
They aren't stopping you from moving to those ten acres.
They are not forcing you into that car to drive the 150 miles to wet a line...

That's YOUR choice to pay the drilling companies to frack.

Not going to explain how the government prohibits your choice of lifestyle to NOT pay the drillers to frack?

This could be you...
