Hi all

So i am looking to get back into the game. It been probabally 7-8 yrs since i was out. Wife.. kids.. house etc...

I have an Orvis Trident TLS 905 ( 9' 5 wt Mid flex 6.5) and need to pick up some new line for it. I don't even know what's on it at this point. I see alot of interesting line conversations on here and figure that the better ones are either the Rio Gold or Wulff Triangle taper?
Does anyone have any input in terms of how either of these lines would match this rod?

Second question I have is in reference to leader material. I want to give a shot at tying my own leaders. What leader material works best?

thanks all .. looking forward to getting back out there

Any name brand weighted forward 5wt floating line should fill your need, you may want to look into the Allen Flyfishing line that is advertised on this site, I have used it, it is quite inexpensive and works quite well.

i wouldnt go crazy buying the triangle wulff or shark skin or even the rio gold fly line is alot of money and if your not sure your going to stay in the game i would buy the line from allen flyfishing

Any of the name brand, plain vanilla 5 weight floating line will do you fine. Check for sales from last years discontinued and package design changes. I've seen some excellent lines marked down to $19 lately...
