Life of an Itinerant Fly Fisher - Part One
Getting Ready for Trout Season 2011
Alright my fishing trip to the TULLY didn't work out as planned. However,
when I left the house the river was at 150 cfs, BWO's maybe were coming off,
WX report no rain...
So two hours later when I arrived at the TCO Fly Shop in Reading, PA,
after greeting me (didn't know me from Adam...Adam who I don't know)
Wes informed me that 15 minutes ago they started raising the water levels.
Later is settled in at 1,000 cfs. At that time I couldn't careless.
Looked at another river on my way home, which was high and sloppy.
So I stopped in to see how FLAT STANLEY made it through the winter,
no holes in the roof, no water damage.. Everything A-O-K.
Today Monday, just didn't feel like doing anything, last night I was talking
to my buddy about my upcoming Smoky Mountains trip next month, and
he reminded me in 2007 that the refrigerator before the trip went on the
blink and how I was scrambling to get it repaired days before the trip.
So, I took the day off and brought FLAT STANLEY home to set it up and run everything... run it a lot this year before the trip. So there will be no surprises.
To top it all off today......
In the mail from Perfect Fly Store arrive my Muddler Minnows.
I dislike tying them myself, but like fishing them so I am now
starting to purchase them. I bought them from many a different
fly shop over the years, but I like the ones from the Perfect Fly Store.
Also in the mail today... LL Bean's spring catalog.
What a great day it has turned out to be for me, got my MUDDLER's
that just ordered a few days ago, LL Bean catalog, reading the
Fly Fishing Smoky Mountains online daily article, all inside of FLAT STANLEY
in front of my house.

As the "other AK" (Best) would say, "Life is indeed!!! GOOD!"
