Iso

PRomano

Fishizzle, I never use worms!
This is an ISO pattern that I developed myself. It's a compilation of ISO patterns that I have seen over the years taking the best qualities of each design and incorporating them into one. This is the one nymph pattern that I always have on the end of my leader; either as the point fly or anchor. I never leave home without a dozen tied in different weights.
Simply put; this fly kicks ass!
I drank an awful lot of wine today so this one didn't come as neat as I normally would tie one. :burp:

Hook- Mustad 9672 or Tiemco 5262 #10
Thread- 6/0 black
Tail- Peacock hearl
Gills- Ostrich hearl
Rib- fine gold wire
Dubbing- purplish brown (eggplant) with a little flash.
White stripe- dental floss
Wing case- black Swiss straw.
Legs- India hen back

Pete

very nice Pete.
I tie a similiar fly with a mahogany dubbing.
I love the ostrich for the gills, nothing better. I top it off with some black larve lace instead of the swiss straw.
It is a killer pattern.
Nice tie !!

With ISO's being spotted on rivers at this time; many people have sent me PM's in regards to my ISO pattern. I can't give detailed instructions on how to ty it because I just don't have the time however the material list is there.
Good luck. :)

He's lying guys. There have been no Iso's spotted on any river whatsoever. And if someone tells you they've been hammering fish on top on Iso duns for 2 weeks now they're lying to you as well. The fish will totally ignore Iso duns, emergers and nymphs. They only eat caddis and powerbait.

It looks pretty real.

The wine you drank, your own makings?

Thanks Mr. Brook Trout.
Yes the wine is my own making. If fact I just finished up the label for my 2009 wine using Soft Hackle's watercolor. Take a look let me know what you think? I also posted a label from my 2008 Sonoma County Syrah; look familiar?

Wow, thats great.

I enjoy a glass of the fruit of the vine, but lately I have been using it with food I prepare.

The other day I wilted some baby spinach, with just some salt, red pepper, and white wine, sat down with a loaf of bread and was so happy I tied a dozen Bombers.

How about using this for your 2010. You could name the wine "Trout Creek Fire Engine Red". ;)
Trout Creek USED to be a tributary of the West Branch of the D. NOW it empties into the Cannonsville Reservoir. The hamlet of Trout Creek is very small now.

That's very clever; I like thinking "outside the box" like that. I may go with something similar in the future. I'm also familiar with Trout Creek upstate NY. I used to visit an old timer in Trout Creek about 35 years ago name George McAfee.

Mark Libertone's watercolor is just so stunning I couldn't pass it up. Not only is it a beautiful print but there is ample space to put the lettering without destroying the integrity of the picture. Keep in mind I have to cram everything into a 4 x 3.3 inch space.

I work 2 miles from Trout Creek. When I saw your current labels with "Trout Creek" on them, well, I couldn't resist.
