Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Got this from another site:

If you have Simms Gore-Tex waders you can turn them inside-out and spray rubbing alcohol on the suspected areas. You will get a dark blue dot where you have holes. Then put a dab of AquaSeal on them and let it cure overnight.

Yes it is true..This is from the Simms website

Repairing Your Simms GORE-TEX® Waders

Tears, punctures and pinholes do happen. Luckily, GORE-TEX® waders are easy to repair. 1) Turn waders inside out. 2) Apply rubbing alcohol to suspect area. Leaks will show as dark gray spots. 3) Immediately apply AquaSeal® to the area and cure for six hours. Please note: this method will not work on seam leaks. If you think you have a seam leak, call 406-585-3557 for information on returning your waders for repair.

Works on others as well. A shop owner in SLC showed me how 2 years ago. Just happens to be a Simms dealer.

Andre:
We used that method on my sons Hodgeman breathables. I dont think they are gortex, but probably are a material of simular structure..

Got me a spray bottle over the weekend and couldn't believe my eyes when I sprayed the inside of the waders. It was like swiss cheese. Most of the pinholes were concentrated in certain areas, but there were a whole bunch of randomly located ones. After doing a super sloppy job with the aquaseal I tested them out on Sunday. Apparently didn't do a good job and still got leaks. Ordered a new pair of LL Bean Wicked Toughs last night. I just don't have the patience for that big of a repair job. Lesson learned: check for leaks periodically, not every four years.

If you try to repair Simms waders yourself and it does not work, you void the warrantee. Regarding the Simms warrantee, you may have to fight with them anyway, I had to and would not buy another pair because of the bs they gave me on the warrantee and I did not try to fix them myself. I had to direct them to this site to see all the negative publicity they were getting before I got action.

The only Simms product I carry now is the backsaver wading belt. I've had it with the boots and waders. They are just too overpriced.
