Invasives Stopping Product

Ok Gentleman and ladies (If there are any) -- I just got off the phone with the Guy who made this stuff -- His name is Matt Murphy -- And guess what -- He is a FLY FISHERMAN --- Due to EPA Laws and some state and local laws he doesn't advertize the Wading aspect of this product -- Mike Mitchelak from the Fly Shop is the one who has started with his own money over 100,000 dollars on the 3rd party testing of this product.

Matt Murphy is going to sesnd me an e-mail very soon -- Through our phone conversation I did find out the CAL-TROUT TU of California Montana and I believe Oregon are all using and testing this product -- It is a 5 min soak on felts -- 3m is (Scientific Anglers) infusing their Fly Lines with this stuff as we speak They also tested on their rods -- backing -- Reels and Leaders/tippets for damage -- It is VERY SAFE -- Simms, Orvis, and a few other Big Fly Fishing Companies are also 3rd party testing this as we speak. It kills all INVASIVES Includeing WHIRLING DISEASE and DIDYMO.

Stand By for the E-Mail -- It's supposedly coming within the hour --- This stuff is safe for Nylon Gor Tex Your flylines Everything and the effect on the water itself is NEGLIGABLE if used as directed --- In Fact BLEACH is worse for the stream than this stuff is

Peace
Dan

Didymo is native to the northern hemisphere and became invasive in New Zealand, so NZ has been early on the research. Their experiments show that didymo can live for 40 days after exposure of the felts. Drying for a few days may not do it.

Hopefully this will shut F.F up for a minute or so....

Thanks for posting this info.

Good stuff!

It can survive 40days on completely dried felt? Just curious, I'd like more details. I've heard that felt can stay moist for a very long time if you just throw boots in your garage, in which case, I can totaly see this happening. I'm leaving my boots out in the blazing sun for 3-4 days, bottoms up, they are bone dry when I bring them in. My yard has day long exposure. They're getting nice and hot. I'm also just fishing on the weekends (been wet wading lately though).

But, that being said, disinfecting is the best practice, then drying.

Hopefully it will -- BTW when i said a 5min soak for felts - That meant -- 5 mins no drying and all invasive species are dead -- There is no reason what so ever to have to let your Felts -- Waders -- Flylines -- Nothing to dry - Like I said the converstion I had with Matt was VERY VERY Enlightening -- Way to much info to really post on here

Im still awaiting the E-Mail from him -- I also have a call into Mike Mitchelak -- Who is the one who has done and funded alot of the 3rd party testing

Peace
Dan

No just trying to SHUT UP A LAWYER with all his skepticism -- My god I post an alternative to bleach and I get put on trial By -- WTF -- Whats that all about

Here is the e-mail From Matt Murphy from EnviroGuard64 to Myself

It was a pleasure speaking with you this morning and nice tosee someone has similar feelings regarding our sport and waters. As we spokeabout earlier I am going to fill you in on the studies that 3rd partyassociations and agencies have done outside the EPA and FDA approveduses for our product, and who is currently using the product. As stated thesefindings are NOT EPA approved uses for this product, and the product is notlabeled as such.

Wen Baldwin who is with the 100th Meridian Initiative hasdone extensive testing and studies on Enviroguard 64 in regards to the invasivespecies Quagga and Zebra mussels in Lake Mead, Nevada, as well as, numerousother streams and lakes across the country. He has stated that our product iscurrently the "best product" on the market for the control of QuaggaMussels onboard vessels in cooling systems, bilges and places thatare unable to be pressure washed at decontamination stations. We currently arerunning extremely high kill rates with the standard 2oz product to 1 gallonwater mix with a spray contact time of 15 minute prior to submersion in water.( Mussels are sprayed with Enviroguard 64 at normal mix rate, and set 15minutes before being put into a body of water)

Doug Anderson, Nevada Dept.of Fish and Game HatcherySupervisor, is currently using Enviroguard 64 for the decontamination ofwaders, boots, tanks, hatchery tools and equipment and hatchery vehicles at theYerington Hatchery in Nevada, to prevent the spread and contamination ofhatchery waters and spawn. Also, vehicles that deliver the fish to variousponds, streams and lakes are decontaminated after each delivery to prevent thespread of bacteria, fungi, molds and viruses from watershed to watershed.

Mike Mitchelak, owner of the Fly Shop in Redding California, has developed foot baths for his lodges that he requires all clients to useprior to entering his waters. As a leader in the fly fishing industry,Mike approached Cal Trout with the product information and achievedan endorsement for Enviroguard 64 from Cal Trout. Mike has been in theforefront of the fishing industry's battle against ANS and is a large supporterof our product, bringing it to lodges worldwide.

Catherine Mandella, Environmental Scientist ANS, CaliforniaDept. of Fish and Game, has also done studies with Enviroguard 64 with QuaggaMussels, Zebra Mussels, New Zealand Mudsnails, and numerous fungi andalgae in the state of California specifically, and has found the same result, high kill rates on specimens tested. She is currently using the product whilein the field as well as her volunteers. They disinfect all boots, waders toolsetc. used during research in multiple watersheds daily. She has also

Dave Kulein, Montana State ANS, has also tested a similarproduct and has stated that the product is good for the control of ANS in thefishing industry.

These are a few of the people and agencies that have firsthand 3rd party testing knowledge of Enviroguard 64 Broad Spectrum Disinfectantin the fishing industry. Also, the U.S.F.S. in Nevada is using the product todecontaminate fire equipment (Bambi Buckets, pumps etc.) that has been exposedto water sources prior to placement into a new water source.

I hope you have a great trip this weekend, and thanks foryour interest in our product.

Hi, All
I would like to try and answer your Questions on Enviroguard64. I work with Matt and have used the product. E64 will stop the order in your waders.

The first thing I noticed is not soaking the entire wading boot. You must as the entire boot was in the water. Any part of your Equipment that is wet should be treated.

Hi Steve!!! Let Vanna know TT was asking about her!!!! How much does a can of that shit cost?

Fishizzle it doesnt matter what type of fishing we do. It matters only that we stop the spread of invasive species before our favorite
fishing waters are closed or there are no fish left to catch
. Steve

Holy Shit Steve, that's a lot of dough. Will it help stimulate hair growth and make me more virile?

If you have to ask I think it is to late for you .
You can mix up a gal. E64 and put it in a dish pan. When done pour it back into the bottle and reuse. your waders can be sprayed with a had sprayer. Product goes a long way.

But is it safe for the environment, Steve?

Look F.F -- It is SAFE FOE THE ENVIROMENT when it is used as directed -- It is safer than BLEACH -- they are using this religiously in California -- Cal Trout and Californias TU have ENdorsed the product -- It from what I understand has been tested under Normal Flora conditions for a river at it has no effect on the "NORMAL" life as of now -- I am still trying to get MORE INFO on this just because YOU cant seem to understand or dont want to understand it is safe and it does work -- It may take me some time to gather the 3rd party testing but Im trying..

Now if you dont believe me do your own research and stop asking the same STUPID QUESTIONS u have been asking

This is the second time this week I have to caution you on your posts. Please stop upsetting Danme with your questions about safeness of a product that will likely make it's way into our streams.

JoeD, you don't think that's a stupid question, do you?

You mean the testing paid for by companies that hope to make some money selling the product?

You're a good guy, Mac. I just can't understand why people would possibly endanger our rivers with these chemicals with unknown effects.

So how safe it is is based in large part by its concentration?

I hear it's being used in FRACING FLUID, and we all know that's safe enough to drink. PA uses it to keep dust down on the roads into the site pads. Not to worry...
;)
