Joe's Hopper
esteemed gentlemen,
Given that thousands of visitors are routinely coming to NEFF these days , I thought I'd float an idea I've been mulling over for some time. A virtual fly fishing tournament, organized entirely online. Maybe the first of its kind?
Rules:
What does everybody think? I'm going to try to make a poll to see how many people would participate and if there's enough interest we could figure out the logistics and get 'er done.
Given that thousands of visitors are routinely coming to NEFF these days , I thought I'd float an idea I've been mulling over for some time. A virtual fly fishing tournament, organized entirely online. Maybe the first of its kind?
Rules:
- Entrants fish in teams of 2-3.
- They're allowed to fish any water in the northeast from sun-up to sun-down on the designated day. (maybe a Saturday in late April?)
- Every team writes a post about their fishing day.
- A prize goes to most beautiful fish (not biggest or most fish).
- Another prize for best post.
- Both of these competitions decided by votes from site visitors. (likes/thanks)
- Every team sends $15 per fisherman to the organizer and fishes for a designated charity.
- All proceeds go to the chosen charity of the "most beautiful fish" winning team.
- An organizer (I nominate dcaberle and/or MACFLY) will collect the cash and send a check to the chosen charity.
- (Probably would also be a good idea to post the thank you letter from the charity so there's no um.. misunderstandings about where the proceeds have gone.)
What does everybody think? I'm going to try to make a poll to see how many people would participate and if there's enough interest we could figure out the logistics and get 'er done.
