I propose a trade----Lehigh river adventure for a delaware river adventure

flyI4

Fishizzle, I use worms but I'm looking to upgrade!
So,

The Lehigh River is a place that has had my interest for a few years. I've waded it a decent amount, always had a blast with a lot of fish, but always left with the feeling that I really didn't cover the water like I wanted to because of how tough the river is to wade, and the swift currents many of the sections have. I have a smaller pontoon that I'm sure would work out nice there and was wondering if anyone would be willing to a do a two man float who knows the river to show me the ropes, good floating stretches, and set up a shuttle. I would be happy to return the favor with a float on the D, just need a wing man on the lehigh. Thanks

John

I'm down for the trade. I have a one man pontoon...

I've floated the Lehigh about 10 times since I got the 'toon in '04. About half the floats were from Palmerton to Walnutport b/c we could squeeze in that stretch on weeknights after work and still catch evening hatches. I know that stretch short stretch pretty well and have floated through most of the river north of Walnutport/below the gorge...I'm no expert by any means but I can line a float stretch and shuttle spots.
Beeber has been my wing man on the Lehigh, that's actually how we met...he knows the river better than I do and I'm sure we'll be floating it this year. Last year was kinda a bust with all the rain and we only floated once. Depending on when you wanna float, we might have floated it already and can fine tune the trip a little better...

sounds good to me phil....I like that section in Palmerton, the layout down there is a little better suited for dry fly fishing and I rarely have seen people down there. When the season gets under way I'll shoot you a PM and we'll make it happen.

Everything about this sounds great.

Except for two things....

Either of you have a guess what beetle's talking about?

Being that the latest trend on here has been attaching gay jokes to any thread possible I'm pretty sure I know where this is headed. Don't make me pull out the pictures beetle, its been done before.

Fly14 let me know when you guys go. We are in Mountain Top PA often (in-laws), and I have always wanted to explore the Lehigh. I have my own pontoon as you know.
Thanks
