How good are you at catching fish?

Fishing the <ST1:pSalmon River </ST1:pis always enjoyable and sometimes can be frustrating.

This morning while fishing a secrete spot with CTobias the day started off like another out on the river with him.

Even though the sun wasn’t able to break thought, it was a sunny day in other respects.

No, it was a RED LETTER BANNER DAY on the <ST1:pSalmon River.

This past week in a thread on LL Bean waders, I made a slight mention that due to the cold water temperatures of the Salmon River I wore my 5.5 ml thick LL Bean neoprene waders (actually my others had a slight leak).

Now if you remember I also said they are camo… Ct and his father never noticed me on the bank at the School House pool. Now some may come to think that remark was made in jest, nay say I.

This morning proved it out, not only was I invisible to humans fishing, but now I have proof that it also applies to fish.

Yes, wearing LL Bean camo 5.5 ml neoprene waders does make you invisible to fish while standing in the river.

As this photo above taken by CT shows how invisible I am.

This morning while fishing the secret spot of Staircase section of the <ST1:pSalmon River </ST1:pwith CTobias I proved that no fish can see me standing in the river.

Which brings me to another item.

<O:p</O:pHave you ever wanted to catch a fish? No really to catch a fish?

<O:p</O:pWell today CT he did catch a fish.

<O:p</O:pBARE HANDED.

In between casts I just happen to notice something in the water very close to my leg sliding by, then hold. I didn’t dare move, I looked up, CT wasn’t too far away, and I gave out a whistle alerting CT but not the fish. Even though fish don’t have ears, you never know.

<O:p</O:pA slight movement of my head and CT was on the move, arriving faster than a snicker. Still not daring to move, using my eye brows, I gave out the location of the fish mare inches away from my leg.

Released unharmed.

CTobias, Salmon River Fish Catching Ninja.

That's right ladies and gentleman. I am not only proficient at catching fish with the traditional rod and reel, but I am lightning fast and can snatch them out of the water if they get too close.
:D

lol, that was a great post! CTobias, Salmon River Fish Catching Ninja....LMAO

Back in the 80s my sister was great at catching trout from the Orvis pond. We'd be over by the dam and she's just cup her hand and reach into the water. A trout would swin into it and she lift it straight up and out of the water.

A few years back, a buddy of mine grabbed a steelie that a guy didn't revive before releasing as it was floating down river on it's side. So he grabbed it, revived it, and released it. Within 5 minutes of the release a ranger called him out of the water and told him it's illegal to take a fish by hand. I thought he was getting a ticket for sure, but once my buddy told him why he grabbed the fish he let him go, but told him to never do it again. I guess there are enough guys that fish the SR that would stringer-up the fish that they have to make it illegal to do.

I'm much better at losing fish than catching them. The number of fish I lose far exceeds the ones I actually land!
