Went for a Hike on Sunday to Hacklebarney state Park for the first time. In the middle of my hike I remembered that I had my rod in the car so I ran back and grabbed it.

casted into a pool after a small waterfall. Got this guy on the first cast came zipping from under a rock and hit my "fly" like a truck.

Just Pretend that the the thing in his mouth is a fly and not a trout magnet :crap:.

I promise to have my fly rod in the car next time!

First brookie I ever caught. Next will be on the fly.

Flogging can commence

I should ban this picture. If you want to post this picture post it at gardenstatetrout.com. They love spin fisherman

Funny you should mention GST in reference to a trout magnet....

One of the guys there posted a junk fly called a "mop fly" that appears to be an excelent way to transition Trout Magnet fans into flyfishing.

A bead head, with body consisting of a "tentacle" from a car-wash mitt, lashed to the hook. It's so simple, you don't even need any fly-tying skills.

Tye a few, and give your spinning rod to some uncoordinated kid, to use until he grows up.

Or the Grobert favorite, Squirminator, which is a Trout Magnet only better.

I also forgot to ask this. While I was there I noticed a fish which was spotted, its dorsal fin was very large almost like a walleyeye but soft and curled. I know that was probably a terrible description but what do you think it could be?
