If it were me I would let the weather and gauges tell me where to fish and decide Friday. If you get out for the shad let us know how you do.

I wouldn't do either. The shad hotlines are reporting a late run, although a few guys are finding them. The shad haven't shown up in force at the commercial netters in the bay or river, so unless you are wired into the shad fisherman network shad are likely to be slow going. The Catskills are still cold and the upper D is running high (Catskill Flies lists it as "too high to fish" today for what its worth). In addition, it may be rainy and cold on Friday. I would take a short trip to a NJ TCA or WTS or a PA limestoner unless you absolutely have your heart set on the Delaware.
