Fishizzle, I never use worms!
GP's imitate prawns and are deadly when the large Atlantic Salmon enter the rivers in the Fall. In exactly 1 month from today I'll be on the Miramichi river swinging one of these through the currents. I can't wait!!:)

Hook - TMC 7999 # 4
Tag - oval gold tinsel
Tail - orange bucktail, teo golden pheasant neck feathers and few strands of orange krystal flash.
Body - hot orange dubbing, orange hen neck with gold oval tinsel rib.
Wing and eyes - Multiple layers of golden pheasant tippet feather at midpoint and head of the fly.

I'm no expert on fly tying, but that's definitely a nice looking fly. Wish I could tie something like that.
 
Promano, great use of Tippets for the carapace, i also like the standard using the Golden Pheasant Breat feathers that are reddish orange.This dog will hunt!

Its hard to see in these photo's but I did use the red breast feathers for the carapace over the tail. I then covered the lower brownish part of the feathers with golden tippets dyed red. The rest are alternating layers of golden pheasant tippets in natural orange and dyed red. In the future I plan to cover the tips of the eyes in black nail Polish so they stand out more. I'm also covering all the feathers with Dave's flexcement to see how that looks. It's very difficult to work with those tippets and keep them together.
