Florida Tuna Fishing?

Hey fellas im a busy guy now and my company is taking me and a few others to Florida for Easter. I was wondering what the tuna fishing is like down there. I'll be near tampa. Its been my dream to catch a big beautiful tuna, but any sport fish will do.

Any narrowing down would be great! like around how much it would set me back $$ and maybe even a few boat/ company names. I'm looking for a private charter type situation. I know florida is fishing capital usa with the most fishing boats of any state.

there are a alot of charters what company do you work with ? i think around 400- 650 should get you a day on the water i believe

Tuna you can catch them up here. Just suggestions take the 3 hour drive south on route 75 to Sanibel Island. The Tarpon run is prime in April. Bring a 10 or 12 weight. It would be well worth the trip.

The local Winn Dixie should have all the tuna you can handle. Go for the chunk white packed in spring water.

CMM -- If your on the GULF SIDE of FLorida -- Blackfin up to 60 lbs -- Atlantic Side More than Likely Yellowfin, 60 - 150 lbs --- Albacore 100 plus lbs -- False Albacore, and Bonita these are 7 to 15 lbs -- Hope you have a great time And this all depends on how far out you go and the water temps

NSG would be fun in kayaks! I always thought of dragging them down there. I usually end up going to more 'Girlfriend' friendly rivers like East ans West Branch. CMM hit me up the next time u got a free weekend i got an extra Yak.
