any one ever fish a diamondback or have any thoughts on thwm. Ive been looking at a couple but have never heard of them and cant find any reveiws

It's funny you posted this today. I just broke my Diamondback Cabonate which was about 12 years old. I really liked that rod. I spoke to Cortland Line Co. (Who bought Diamondback) and they are replacing it with a new Diamondback Flawless for $30.00 S and H. :)

Many years ago, the owner of Diamondback gave my brother and I a tour of their old factory in Stowe, VT...We had an opportunity to cast some rods and my brother got a good "factory" deal on an 8'6" 4 wt...It was a nice medium action rod that he still uses on occasion...The company was sold to Cortland sometime in the 90s, I have not fished or cast with any of their rods after Cortland's acquisition but it looks like they are only producing a fiberglass model under the Diamondback label in this years lineup.....

I bought a three piece 9ft 6 wt Diamondback Americana rod off E-bay this past winter. Very nice rod that is a pleasure to cast. Rod was around $239 and I would place the performance of the rod up there with some of the Sage and Orvis lines. They still sale the rod on E-bay if you want to buy one. I truly enjoy the rod so far and would not hesitate to buy another.

Sincerely
Andy Brasko

I've been using a 9' - 5 weight, Diamondback Americana as my "everyday beater" rod since 2004.
It's one of the easiest rods to cast that I've ever used.
