Cemetery Pool - Esopus Creek

Can anyone give me the exact location of Cemetery Pool on the Esopus Creek?

you epitomize what is ruining this sport get f*cked and find it yourself thats half the fun.

lol....and to that end, when you're out there searching for cemetery pool--don't bother looking directly next to the cemetery.

I'm not going to scan copy copyright material, but according to "Esopus Creek Stream Guide", published by Catskill Mountain Chapter of Trout Unlimited, in 1981....

9.15 miles west of the Rt. 28/28A triangle in Boiceville, on Route 28, there was a spot called "Cemetary Run". It appears to be a bit downstream from the portal.

I have no idea if they've started calling it a "pool" since then.
I don't know if the way they spelled "Cemetary" is a typo, or if that was how the locals spelled it. They spelled it that way twice.

Why so hostile? Angry folks like you are worse for any sport than folks like this guy. I bet that you're one of those guys that gets pissed if you get to a spot and someone else is there already........

Calm down.

All the streams and rivers were ruined right after they stopped using smoke signals when the printing press was invented > https://www.sparsegreymatter.com/viewtopic.php?t=5588

Damn that Gutenberg guy!!!

Does anybody remember Jack's Sportsman's Bar & Grill in Shandaken? It sat just above the Portal where I believe J. Roccos sits presently.

Shhhhh! Don’t tell anyone. Drive to the town with the letter “e” in it. Go to the exact center of town, there is a park there. Look under the third bench from the statue, I placed a map there showing the pool you are looking for. At the bottom of the map there is a phone number, now follow these directions carefully, transfer $100,000 to the bank account number that is the reverse of that phone number, at 3PM on the next full moon, call the phone number and I will tell you how many feet upstream or downstream the pool is located on that map from the indicated “X”. Don’t call unless you transferred the money, I will be checking. BTW, the map is coated with a special chemical that will cause it to spontaneously combust after 1 minute when exposed to sunlight.

If all of this sounds complicated, just ask your wife, apparently I talk in my sleep.

You need to pay your dues man, burn some felt, explore. No one is going to hand you the keys to the executive bathroom. Although, I hear they may be under a bench, in the middle of a town that starts with "e".....

Next to the cemetery on 28. Parking is provided as well. Popular spot and worth a look but as noted just go exploring.

I started fly fishing on the Esopus, used to go and camp at Woodland Valley, you can fish anywhere there, no place is really better than the other. Swing wet flies in the riffles. Easy to access great water.
