Ausable 05/28-06/1

Hey Guys,

REcently took a trip to the Ausable River with my dad and friends. THe fishing was absolutely OFF THE FUCKING chain. Fish were taken on all methods. I stuck with the Colorado nymphing approach with a Chubby Chernobyl and a hares ear/p tail/ ETC dropped off the bend. Fish were absolutely CRUSHING hufe attractors!!

Fishing was great but spending time with my dad was even better! Rarely, even while on a trip, do we get to spend working the same water. Spent 8 hours one day, wokring the same stretch of river, on opposite sides, for a 2 mile stretch. Didn't say ONE word the whole time, but we knew what eachother was thinking the whole time. He isn't a man of many words, but a simple nod or hand gesture is all we need to converse the whole time.

Cherishing these moments more and more each time.

And yeah, pic#16 is one of my favorite fish of the trip. Stuck some fucking logs in this one section that didn't even move off the bottom. Made 5lb test seem like string. My budy sam landed that 23'' -er and it took 40 minutes. Amazing how much more aggressive fish are when they dont see humans

The Ausable has to be the most scenic rivers new York has to offer.

It's a shame that a knob polisher like you tramples through it, fishing plastic beads retrieved from your boyfriends anus.


Btw.. Nice feesh you meat stain. I'll be up that way this weekend assessing all the trauma you caused those poor trout.

The call of the loons are what had me sold on my first camping trip to the Adirondacks way back when.

I've always managed to make atleast one trip up a year since.

You know your in prime seclusion when you hear a loon call.

As for where I stay,

Its the Wilderness Inn II. I have been staying there for the last 18 years. Youll need to call immediately. The food is excellent.

for 70 bucks you get:

Morning breakfast vouchers to the restaurant right down the street, Frans Betters's old place. AWESOMEEE FOOD! Tell the waitress Chris from Jersey sent you....Shes such a nice lady. TIP WELL

For lunch you get a bagged lunch.

And for dinner you are on their on site restaurant....BEAUTIFUL place!!! Tell Paul when you call Chris Takacs sent you. Hell hook you right up.

And you get lodging... FOR 70 BUCKS A DAY!!!!!



You will never fish anywhere on the east coast as beautiful.

THERE ARE FISH LITERALLY EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!

EVERY FUCKING MILE of the West Branch. The East brnach is VOID of fish until you get closer down to the forks...
