Since Tobias was addressing me directly in his post, I thought it fitting to respond to HIM and not Beetle.
Please tell me where I went wrong in labeling the statement quoted below as ad hominem.

I would love to 'get a grip on what's happening,' but nobody has told me what it is that's 'happening.'
All they've done is spew off fluffy slogans and cliches that they heard at the end of some political attack ad like 'get a grip on what's happening in our wonderful land.' These words don't mean shit when they aren't leaning on the statistics that preceded them. Save the cliches for valentines day -- I want the context.
Mac, when it comes to social issues deeply rooted in religion like abortion, contraception, and gay marriage -- I doubt we'd be able to see eye to eye.
But when it comes to social welfare programs, the unfortunate reason that democrats are considered allies of the communities in question in Tobias' video, we'd probably be on the exact same page.
You're right, though -- I guess I have 'lost the plot' because I have done nothing but post about wayward right wingers. I've been very careful not to attack your political beliefs. Instead, i've focused on criticizing your methods. You're out here screaming 'WAKE UP SHEEPLE,' but to me it sounds like "BAAAA BAAAA BAAAA."
An impressionable young lamb like myself has no need for slogans. Maybe if CDUN joined the dialogue I'd get what i'm looking for....

As for the facts, they are out there for you to find. Why do you need others to present you with the information? Besides, looking for the facts will help you realize what is really going on. Seems like you're almost headed in the right direction.
It isn't an issue of right and left, because they are all one in the same.
Just make sure you don't fall down the wrong rabbit hole or you will never get out.

I can't quite tell if you're being polite or just talking to down to me. Irregardless, you've taken my words too literally.
That post was not me requesting a McBrainwashing.
What I think I made fairly clear in the unabridged version of the post, was that I don't want to hear bullshit aphorisms about how you're right and someone is wrong unless you're gonna say WHY you're right and someone else is wrong.
I don't really mind the self-published, home-schooled journalism you promote. Obviously, I prefer repudiated publications such as GB MAG. At the end of the day, its the hollow preaching that bothers me.
Don't tell me I'm wrong and then squirm when I ask why.

Not once did I ever say you or anyone else was wrong.
In fact, all of you started this debate. I simply posted a video and asked a question if folks were waking up to what is going on in this country.
You guys took it where it went.
I wasn't speaking down to you in the last comment. No one can (or should) decide how you think. Although, there are many out there who work very hard to indoctrinate Americans at a young age.
Anyways, I'm not squirming about anything. I know how I feel about issues. It's very hard to make people change their ways. There are reasons people are the way they are, for good or for bad.
All one needs to do is look at bastions of liberal thinking (Chicago, DC, NYC, any major city in America run by a liberal majority) to see how great "progressive" ideas work.

I also agree. The children of the lazy shouldn't have to suffer either. If they are neglected they'll likely end up burdening the system themselves when they grow older. This means money for programs in public schools.

GE pays 0 percent in tax to the USA.
When the big banks go bankrupt due to predatory lending schemes, they get bailed out.
They get 0 percent interest loans from the American people.
Now, all you need to do to see people who are living off the productivity of others is look at corporate America and Wall Street.
You call a poor man who works 3 jobs and doesnt have healthcare lazy.
I know you are wrong about that, and that your anger at those with less than you is misplaced.
The CEOs of the big corporate world arent the same capitalists of 200 years ago. They dont make anything, they dont compete with anybody, and they dont pay taxes, nothing close to what I pay.

You say that Republicans arent the problem, but I would say that they are. Clinton left America the strongest it has been in its history, with a budget surplus.

First off, the military industrial complex will NEVER go away if we keep electing people to power who are propped up by these big corporations and banks that profit off of war. No one goes to war without a return on their investment. It's always about economic gain for someone.
You complain about Bush, and yes he wasn't a great person, but then you turn around and praise this administration? That makes no sense considering this administration is Bush on steroids. Just look at how Barry continued the unconstitutional "Patriot Act", implemented the NADA, called returning veterans "potential domestic terrorist", and then turns around and says islam is the religion of peace and tolerance.
