Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Anyone fish these streams?

Has anyone out there ever fished the Waywayanda Creek or the northern part of the Walkill( the part that goes thru the wildlife preserve)? Was at the bike trail off Canal Rd at Waywayanda, a guy said he saw some large carp swim past but had no other action. I think the state stocks this area.
Also, I don't think the north part of the Walkill gets stocked but I was wondering if and what fish it may hold.
I live close to these streams, but have very little free time so I would like to know if they are worth exploring. Species does't matter. Any info will help.

Lad, I doubt that most know where those streams are located.

So, after you go on out there and explore them, I expect a full report.

Wawayanda Creek

I've fished Wawayanda Creek for the first time this year. Had no luck with the fly rod, but they do stock the section between Prices Switch and Canal Rd on the AppTrail property. Nice water but a steep bank makes it difficult to get in and out of the stream. Most of people fishing are kids with worm rigs. The recent rains have made it unwadeable for the next couple of days.

Is Waywayanda Creek the stream that parallels the access road in Waywayanda State Park where Lake Waywayanda is?

Wawayanda Creek

The Wawayanda Creek section that is wadeable parrells Rt 94 from the state line down. The stocked section is the App. Trail property from Prices Switch Rd to the Canal Rd path bridge (off of Maple Grange Rd.) in Vernon. I'm not sure about the fishing quality of the steam inside the main park; I've never seen anyone fishing it.
