I'd like one that looks like this:

If you know of anyone, let me know.

Thanks

He's watching for rising fish, I think.

Are you set on a puppy or would you consider a rescue? There's the Garden State Golden Retriever Rescue plus a couple others at this link. Garden State has a six month old dog up for adoption at the moment.

It looks like he is watching DC's back cast....Even a dog brain is going to remember a few embedded comparaduns in his skull...:D

I know exactly where you can find one just like that. Almost exactly like that. Close to that one. Resembles that one in passing.....OK its an australian sheep dog but he does like to get wet..does that help:D

All the golden retrievers i know seem nuts......Labs seem a bit more docile.....we bred our rat terriers a few years ago .......

Rat terriers are great dogs - my Dad had one. Goldens have a lot of energy but they are really smart and easy to train. When I had a dog, all the best dogs in the obedience class we took were goldens. Learned commands in seconds and would never take their eyes off their handlers.

Gold-Rush Goldens in Princeton. You won't get any better than theirs. We got ours from them and was hands down the prettiest golden we've seen.

I hate to break it to you but thats a Rabbit:rofl:

I'd highly recommend Crangold Goldens in Burlington, VT
We've had goldens all our lives. We got our last one at Crangold after ours had died of cancer.
These people are fantastic and their goldens are beautiful with really nice temperments. You can take a look at Crangold Golden Retrievers
Let me know if you'd like any more information.
Good luck in your search!

There used to be a breeder in Avis, PA. The family only breed Goldens. Not sure if they are still there or breed. At the time we visited the farm, I almost placed an order for one of their pups from the next litter. However, the litter was due in late fall and there was no way for us to get it transported in the winter to where I would be living. The blood line was from 'Gold Rush Charlie' who was a champion. I recall the dog, his name was 'Ringo', was a good temperment, very very large and a similar color to the one in your photo. The bi*ch was on the premises too but I don't recall anything about her. Long time ago so this all may be a moot point. Good luck. Goldens are great.

They are great dogs....sometimes two smart for their own good but loyal to the end. I am on my second one, this is 4 I got from a breeder in Bucks County. He is on the smaller side compared to my last one who was a brut but my good friend. She breeds them for temperment and I have to say she did a great job.

Please don't take offense to this... I love goldens but I'm looking for one that looks like he means business (like the one in my photo) not one who looks like he wants to take a stroll in the park. I know... all goldens want to take a stroll in the park.

He will be left in upstate ny, anchored to my drift boat. This will ensure that nobody F's with it.

DC I know she's not a retriever but a fantastic lab never had a leash on her . Her name is Jessabelle and is going to have puppies in the next 6-8 weeks if you are interested she usually has a good mix of colors as the father is chocolate last litter she had 8 and the colors were white, yellow and chocolate and they come complete with papers.

DC I know she's not a retriever but a fantastic lab never had a leash on her.

So then what's the choke chain for?

I don't know about this one, Dennis. The dog probably isn't "fantastic" either.

(as the owner of three different labs, I would like to point out that they are "puppies" for about two years. One should keep them busy running outside the house or they'll be busy ruining the inside instead.)

Don't know till you meet her she is a wonderful and protective not destructive listens to a tee put her in the back of the truck drive into town park on mainstreet everyone walking by and she stays put bet you don't have a dog like that!! Good with children loves to swim and fetch as well. And another plus she gets along well with others. The collar is for when we walk down to the stream I put a leash on her to get her across the bridge so she dosn't get hit by a car any other Questions?

I was joshin' with ya Bhc. The joke was, that you wrote that she had never had a leash on, SO since you obviously did leash her from time to time (because of that choke chain) we had to call into question your other statements, such as, she was "fantastic". Of course she is, though.

She looks like a fine, well adjusted, sweetheart of a dog. :)

(note to self: be careful when joking about others four-legged friends)

I figured as much thats why my statement was put lightly.

LOL!! The only time she dosn't listen is when I ask her to wipe her feet before she comes in and she does like to sit in your lap from time to time.

I owned three labs.

I owned three labs at the same time.

I have a muddy pond.

I owned three labs who would wade in my muddy pond at he same time.

Sometimes, they would swim/wade when we wouldn't know it.

At times such as those, their not wiping their feet before they came in was the LEAST of the problem.

They were like big mud paint brushes.

Big happy mud paint brushes. :)

Well, thanks to everyone who took the time to reply and offer suggestions.

Tough choice as there were 8 to choose from.

I'm going to formally introduce my two new dogs by name.

The first photo is, Sage.
The second, Winston.

I suggested the names and everyone seems to love them for some reason... Go figure.
