an interesting way to tie a pheasant tail

I saw this video on youtube and thought how cool is this? Two materials to tie one of the stalwart flies of all time, Unfortunately, the video ends before he shows you what to do with the tag end of the wire, but I like the simplicty and resourcefulness of the way this guy tied it.

I have tied these before. I just put a clove hitch in the end and it holds because it's wire.

a whip finish seems overkill with wire

A 3 or 4 turn whip with small wire is doable, but the x-small wire is the best choice.

I like the clove hitch, that is resourceful and will stay put.
