2nd Annual Sparse Grey Matter Fly Fest

Shannon's Fly & Tackle and Dette's Trout Flies are sponsoring the 2nd Annual Sparse Grey Matter Fly Fest. This event is an informal get together of fly tiers and fly fishermen and is open to the public with no charge. The event will be held Sunday Feb. 26th at the Califon Fire House, 41 Main Street, Califon, NJ 10am to 4pm. All are welcome to come tie and/or watch some of the best fly tiers in the region...Food and beverages will be available. I sat with Andy Brasko last year and a good number of RRTU members attended as well, I have to say without a doubt it was truly a highlight of the year for me.

I truly enjoyed the days event and can't wait till February to roll around.

I have a call into the chief and will post when I hear back....but typically in any fire house this would be mandatory, not optional

On the food front, the firemen will be cooking burgers and dogs for a reasonable fee instead of a couple of us collecting $$ and running out for pizzas like last year.

Its a bunch of tyers getting together. You can tie or just watch. I would assume shannons would be open for business but not sure.

The fly shop will be open as usual. This event is within close walking distance at the fire house. Lots to learn from some great tyers and good to meet up with like-minded fly anglers. You don't have to tie, just show up.
