Shannon's Fly
On Saturday October 17 from 10AM - 5PM, Shannon's Fly and Tackle, Califon, New Jersey (908-832-5736) is hosting its 2009 Fall Festival at the Raritan Inn. The day will feature John Shaner and the team from Hardy & Greys Ltd. North America, displaying their 2010 products including their latest reissues from the St. George series. Feel free to bring in your old Hardy reel for any advice or tips from John. Dennis Menscer of Little River Rods will be there, and have several of his classic bamboo rods available for you to try. In addition, Pat Moffitt, founder and CEO of Moffitt Angling, will be demonstrating his new fly design concept and fishing techniques. This event is free, and food and soda will be available. For directions to the Raritan Inn, visit The Raritan Inn at Middle Valley, Califon, NJ. Additional information can be obtained by calling Shannon's or visiting Shannons Home Page & News. Hope to see you there.

Jim,

Thanks again. Sorry I will be fishing that weekend on the Housi. I'll have to put my Hardy to the test just to feel like I was there.

I've been very impressed with the Grey's rods that I have cast so far. Great price for what seems like a high end rod equal to the Sage, Winston, Scott, etc. Darren Rist and I put a 4 weight reel/line on the one Shannon's donated to NJTU council for this summer's pig roast and we tossed out 80 feet of line no problems:)

I have this event on my calendar...

To all,
The Hardy/ Grey's Day at the Raritan Inn is a go tomorrow rain or shine. We'll have the barn and the Shannon's Shack available so it shouldn't be too uncomfortable. Water levels should be fine at least early on for Pat Moffitt's demonstration. Hardy has generously donated a 9' 5wt X-Flite rod for our soon to kick off "Bubba Contest".
