Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

COOL! Any risers? I love it when it is this cold, as long as I don't need to work in it.

Main stem is starting to ice over, -12 in Lordville, people are having problems with frozen pipes. A few more days of freezing temp we'll be able to go ice fishing on the Delaware.

Its amazing to see the fog in the morning @ -12.

Looks like a photo from McMurdo Station.

Out of curiosity, what did the river at Lordville look like in winter prior to the reservoirs? Did it freeze over and did people go ice fishing?

Allan

Hi,

13.2 seems about right. The prediction of 1-3 turned into 13!!!

Lordville used to be a popular spot for walleye and and suckers through the ice.

I have some pictures from the turn of the century, 1890's, that show horse and sleds using the river for transportation, I still have the sleds in the wagon shed. This was the main mode of transportation during the winter months. The river froze every winter until they put the dams in. They would run the rafts down river when they had the winter thaws, usually in late January, then the river would freeze again until spring.
