This past Saturday, February 19, 2011, the Highland and Lumberland Committees on Energy and the Environment hosted an informational forum led by representatives of two law firms that are working in the area of civil rights, home rule and municipal powers regarding natural gas drilling.
The forum provided important information for members of town boards, planning and zoning boards, and citizens who are concerned about gas drilling issues - exploring home rule options as a legal safeguard against the dangers inherent in natural gas extraction.
