Folks,
I just got this information directly from the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife (when I called to ask that they enact the Summer Flounder regs for 2011 ASAP). The New Jersey Saltwater Registry will be active next Wednesday, May 4<SUP>th</SUP>. At that time EVERY angler fishing in New Jersey waters will be required to register with the state of New Jersey. This is regardless of whether you have a federal registry card, or whether you have a saltwater license from another state !! That’s different from the rules for the federal registry. It doesn’t make much sense to me but it’s apparently the law. So go and register next Wednesday!
The website is: www.saltwaterregistry.nj.gov and it will show a blank page until it’s up next Wednesday.
Pass the information around to everyone you know who fishes.
