Upper West Branch

Hello all. I rented a cabin on the Walton/Hemden boarder in NY. Walking distance to the west branch of the Delaware above the Cannonville res. Anyone have info on the fishing up there? I will be there Aug 1 to Aug 8th. Any info about the area as well would be great. Hiking , dinning sightseeing etc.

If it hasent closed down the DEC Bear Spring campground was a beautiful campground with a beautiful hiking and tons of streams in the immediate area.

I'm not real familiar with the West Branch above Cannonsville, but as far as fishing in August, you will probably be much better off on either the East or West Branches in the tailwaters below the reservoirs. Oquaga Creek State Park is not too far away and would be another place to take a look at for hiking, and they have a lake with a beach, etc. If you like fresh produce take a ride to Frog Pond Farms in Bainbridge - well worth the trip. And if you do end up fishing the West Branch around Deposit, both the Koo Koose Grille (lunch & dinner) and Butterfield's Cafe (breakfast & lunch) are good.
