Thanksgiving in the Poconos

Spent thanksgiving week up in the Poconos at a Great Lake house in Long Pond. Managed to get out twice to fish the Tobyhanna creek. I fished off of 115 in between 2 pieces of club water. Saturday had some action on an olive bigger fished slow through the deeper runs. Haven't fished the Toby in a long time and im always surprised by how much the tannins impact this stream color. It's literally black as night. Before I left on Satruday some bwos started to come off but no reaction form the fish. In spite of the warmer weather the stream was still cold from earlier in the week. Lake where we stayed had some ice for much of the week. I got 4 decent fish for only a few hours of fishing. Stopped by the evening hatch and A&A outfitters. Both vey nice shops. Picked Up some nice slate drake wet flies for next year. Wished I could have fished longer on Saturday. I'm sure some risers would have presented themselves got a nice shot of the sunrise Saturday before things clouded up. Last one is of my little guy fishing at the lake. That lasted about 30 min then he wanted to throw rocks

Well, look at the equipment you force him to use... I'd be throwin' rocks, too.

He's got a nice fly rod with his name on it just as soon as I believe he won't launch it into the river
