Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Thank you to my Clients on the site/ West Branch Angler

Fishizzle, I use worms but I'm looking to upgrade!
This weekend I finished up what I believe was my last guide trip of the season, and sadly career as time will not be available for me to do it over the next few summers. I just wanted to take the time to thank the many people on the site who have been loyal clients of mine over the past 3 years...it was a great run and an amazing learning experience for me. I met a lot of great people, saw a lot of great fish, and even networked a bit to help land my next job.
As for my Employer, West Branch Angler, I can't say enough about how much of a pleasure it was to work for them. This isn't a promotional message, but rather a genuine thank you for allowing me to do something I loved while also making some good money to enjoy my college years. I started going to the west branch angler when I was 7 years old(the weekend that big 33 inch brown was caught on the bar) and have loved the place ever since. I was proud to represent such a great lodge and will continue to support you with my purchases as I return back to "weekend warrior" status. I'd also like to thank guys like Jeff Church, moose, and John miller who I always felt showed me the ropes, willingly shared information, and defended me in the all too common guide disputes that can arise on the river. I hope we can continue to stay in touch and get on the water from time to time.
Lastly to some of the clients I know look here often, I just want to say it was a fun experience seeing you improve over the years, and over time many of us become good friends. While I'm sure you got tired of me telling you how your reach cast is terrible, that there is a quiet sipper on that bank so stop arguing with me, and that we weren't going in til dark sorry if you have dinner plans, I think the fish landed and laughs shared will be the lasting memory. Thank you

JC Clark

JC,

Great post. I'm sure your clients will appreciate the time you took to sit down and write about your experience.

It's pretty obvious that you enjoyed your time guiding. Your clients must have been pretty good to work with too. Of course in between all of the great clients, there are a few here and there (we all know who they are) who think your job is to put 10 20+" fish in the boat especially in not so great conditions.

The WBA is a great place and the guys there are all top Notch. Sam, Matt, Ben, Dustin, Jeff and of course, Yourself. I'm sure you'll be missed by everyone.

Hope to see you on the river!

JC,

Study Hard and Enjoy School!! Hope to see you back on the river soon! Dan

My brother just "retired" for good to go to grad school too. We had a nice long talk about it over some very good bourbon. While I don't know how you feel, I can certainly relate.

His goal is to put him self in a position to go and get on the river when he's not working. So hopefully your investing in your future river time.

Isn't that what we all do?

Good luck!
