Targeting Large Fish on the South Branch

My biggest wild brown from the SBR, a full 23". Fought like an upper Delaware fish and I could never get a great photo of the entire fish because it was still so hot when I landed it. It jumped out of my hand when I tried to get the full body picture. Spinner fall one evening last year.

My biggest holdover brown from the SBR, a fat pig well over 25" and 8 lbs. Not nearly the fish I show above because it is a holdover and not wild, but this fish was not stocked at anywhere near this size. She grew to this size over a few years (best guesstimate).

Come on Rusty, we all know you copy and pasted that wild brown from Grobert's blog....:)

You folks are spot burning the hell out of that river. Next thing you know, you'll see the Russian trawlers cleaning the place out.

they dont have the patience or skill to fish anywhere other than the spillway of the pequest. We are talking about full on goons here.

I agree 100% with Sneelhead... the pequest outflow and TCA should be year round NO KILL. If not for anything but to alleviate fishing pressure on other the state's other TCA's

More NO KILL waters are need in NJ!... the few TCAs this state has compared to general regulation waters are pathetic. And if your looking for good wild trout streams with large fish buy a PA & NY license.

Keep the Pequest as is.....it keeps the circus clowns all in the same tent. I know where not to fish on most days! Hit it in the bad weather during the week, then its almost pleasant excepting without much foot traffic then the damn bears come out to play. And not the Russian variety either.
