Who got bit by a monkey?
Hi All - read everyone's posts quite a bit....awesome site with some valuable info. Thanks to all.

I will be in SE Pennsylvania over the long T-giving weekend (Phoenixville area). I have fished the FFO section of French Creek, but was looking for some other spots to try. Anyone have any suggestions?

Others worth wild are the LIttle Lehigh, Possibly Monocacy or even Valley Creek.
They would go from small --> smaller --> tiny

I would suggest the Little Lehigh and you can probably do a search on this site for the Little Lehigh, getting valuable info.

Im sure others will fill you in on this river as well.

The Tulpehocken Creek in Berks County/Reading area is a nice stream. Recently stocked with fingerlings and a few adult fish as well. Fish holdover well in the delayed harvest stretch. Recent reports I have heard the stream is fishing OK with some nice fish being caught.

Allentown area streams mentioned previously are always good.

My cousin just fished the Tulpy and had a pretty good day. Bring some small CDC caddis flies for on top, and some green caddis nymphs. he caught some fingerlings on these. He caught a nice rainbow on an olive Zonker fish in some deadfall.

I fish Valley Creek a lot, and it can be a bit on the tough side. I can't give you any advice because I'm still figuring it out myself! I have had some luck using #14 & #16 soft-hackles, but these are my "go to" flies on most streams anyway. If you need any specifics, PM me and I can tell you more.

Hey Kev,

I've been offline so thanks for responding on this one. How was Vegas? Anyway, anyone who fishes the Tully should stay away from the section just below the dam. It was essentially devoid of fish last time I was there. Better to fish the section closer to Rt 222. The big bow I caught was on an olive Matuka fished deep with a #4 split shot about 8" in front of the fly. The rest were caught on small caddis larve and hare's ears - even split between browns and bows.

Catch ya soon!

Appreciate the replies. I think I am going to try Valley Creek....It is close to my mother-in-law's and I only have a few hours to flip some feathers.

The only section I know is the area in Valley Forge Park. (That is the way I go into Kimberton off the PA turnpike via Rt 23). Is this a good place to poke around or should I be moving elsewhere?

Thanks again...BT27

Valley Creek within the park is beautiful but IMO is a waste of time. I've fished there a few times over the last 2 year and caught nothing but a 3" brownie. I think a lot of the fish got flushed 2 summers ago when we have flooding from Ivan and other tropical storms. Kidfromnujay may disagree with me though :) Let us know how you did.
