Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Slow day in the Poconos

I started out on a small stream at a perfect level, clear, and 43°. I was very confident I could land a few trout on a copper john with these conditions. No way though, I couldn't get a single bump. Oh well, I decided to try the Lehigh River at my favorite high water spot that I fished after the September flooding. The flow was about 4,000 cfs with just a bit of color at 43°. I used a black wooly bugger with a splitshot and got a few hits and hooked two trout. One was a small fish I lost in the strong current, the other one I landed. It was a real nice 14" brown that looked wild.

I expected more action today, but I still had a great time and it was a nice afternoon to be on the water. There's no really cold weather in the forecast and it may be a bit warmer next week, so this very memorable fishing season rolls on. :)
