Just got back from Pulaski, fished 4/13 4/14 and morning of the 15th. Went out Friday with George O'Brien from Trophy Guide Service. We hit the upper river, water was running about 1800 cfs, cold and snowing. Went 12 for 17, 2 fish about 15 pounds. What a blast! There are not many days I go out and catch 12 10" stockers. Saturday tried some different areas, nothing doing. Sunday fished for a few hours and picked up one fish about 8 pds. If anyone's headed up that way and needs a guide I would really recommend George.You will Learn a lot and I had one of my best days fishing EVER.

What fly patterns were you using?

George had me using attracter type patterns. Chartrues and pink eggs, pink worms and something orange, I don't recall the pattern. I tried a variety of nymphs and streamers with no success. I would have thought that would be the ticket. Thats why you pay a guide named George O'Brien to guide you.

By the upper limilt of the Upper Fly Zone? I think thats what AJ meant.

I think that George must campout there overnight! Seems like 90% of the pics on his reports page are from that spot.

George gave me a choice, would I like to float the river and get into a couple fish, or would I like to catch some fish. I only get up to Pulaski about twice a year so I said lets catch fish. That we did. If I had a week or so I would have liked to explore other options, but I think I made the right choice. Yes we were close to the wire.
