Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Rising Fish is a good thing to see!

Hi Guys,

Was showing property yesterday on the mainstem and there were quite a few consistently rising fish.

The fisherman I was showing property to accused me of planting the fish just for the showing!

Quite a few stoneflies in the air.

River is still chilly, but it looked very inviting.

I'm not coming up until The Beav says that the conditions are good, and he's been getting into a few, with video of course.

Yep, I can corroborate Jim's hatch report. I spotted a couple of consistent risers on the lower EB and lower WB this weekend. The EBS hatch is strong this year and a handful of fish were keying on the ones who didn't make it to the bank to hatch.

I threw some stonefly nymphs (only in water open for trout fishing of course) and came back empty handed, but was only able to fish when it was overcast and a cold wind was up. I think most fish are still in their winter lies, but if the warm weather holds, it will be an early dry fly season up there for sure.

Best fishing for the next few weeks will be on warm, sunny afternoons. Get your caddis patterns ready. :)

April 1st I will show you how it's done. You will see a technique you never saw before.

cold temps seem to be on the way which may normalize things a bit. I've been seeing rising fish up there for 3 weeks on the warmer days and have seen a few hendricksons on some sections already. Fish are still a bit skinny and lethargic for the most part but its a good sign to see bugs around after what can only be described as a dismal hendrickson hatch last year. Anchor ice and very cold temps likely were the culprit. A little rain wouldn't hurt, not for the fishing so much as limiting the carnage from the catch and kill crew early season. Low flows and active fish is a bad combination for the opening week. U will see some big fish taken to the woodshed this week. Lets hope the rain hits before the opener

As far as I can tell, it's only supposed to be cold on my days off :crap:
