That ain't working, that's the way you do it. If you want the real thing, like Coca-Cola once was, this is how you get it. Not much on a green-winged teal, but a few birds will give you everything you need for several flies. There will be fluffy stuff around it, but you don't want that, just the feathers right next to the preening gland. Gadwall gives you a lighter dun color, a black duck or drake mallard darker. A hen mallard a deep brown, hens will have shades of brown while drakes mostly shades of gray. So if you or your friends do any duck hunting, now you know where to get the good stuff that really floats. Better than those fat white ducks that get dyed.
