Pontoon Boat Questions

I have been contemplating purchasing a pontoon boat for drifting my favorite waters. Looking for some insight from those that have had or currently have a pontoon boat, ie pro's and con's.
My initial choice is the Fish Cat 10ir with the stand-up platform or the 10' Cataraft this looks very well made but a bit pricier. Obviously not wanting to drag, especially in low water is a concern. I have read complaints that some of the weight limits on various boats is not consistent with what is listed, though I would think 10' pontoons would give you enough buoyancy, one of the reason's I am leaning towards 10' pontoons versus 8' pontoons. Any thoughts on being able to stand? Is this a feature you end up not using and just adds extra weight and drag?
Just looking for some insight from those that use a pontoon boat. Features you like, don't like, wish you had.......
Thanks

hey i bought a classic accessories rogue pontoon 8 feet 300 dollars no shipping and no tax on google its really nice i have kneeled on the seat but i dont know about standing.... with the pontoon i did notice is that with the anchor up in stow postion but dragging in the water does slow you down extremely the stand up feature i believe would be a good thing the platform is located just under the seat but not under the pontoons....

I know at the fly show this year there will be a dealer with some set up if you can wait until then. You will be able to sit and look them over in the flesh. Might not be outcasts line but at least you can see ft that is what you are interested in or maybe something different

As far as weight limits, I believe Outcast boats are on the sturdier end of the spectrum for pontoon boats limits. The pontoons are also made with a whitewater grade vs. 400 denier nylon on lower priced boats, so they are more durable- you will hit rocks and gravel bars no matter how careful you are on the river. I have no experience with standup platforms on 1-man boats, but they are real nice on 2 or 3-man boats, at least for the guys not on the oars. They're probably a nice feature for 1-man boats in certain situations but not all. I don't think you'd get the same use out of them on a river as the guys on the 2 & 3-man boats do.

BTW, I've got 8ft pontoons (with heavy duty pvc covers) on my 1-man boat from Creek Company and it did just fine in Class I to III whitewater. I weigh about 215lbs.

I've got a scadden and I'd say the 10' pontoons are without question the way to go. They track better and they move faster. I'm not sure about other boats with standing platforms but I know that with the scadden 10' pontoons, I've never felt like I was going to fall forward into the water. I'd be a bit more cautious with small pontoons.
