Nymphed a Pocono stream today to a chilly 35° start at 10:30am, that warmed to 58° at 4pm when I headed home. The water temperature was 47° when I started fishing with only a few midges showing. At around 2:30pm some bug life started to pop with a few little black stone flies and good numbers of small tan caddis and quite a few olives on the water. However, except for a couple splashy rises there was no surface action.
Nymphing produced a handful of browns brought to net, ranging in size from 14" - 18". I lost as many and had on a real cocker that I saw a couple of times before the hook pulled.
Here is a sampling of todays browns.
