Pa in June

AlaskaBill

Fishizzle, I use worms but I'm looking to upgrade!
I am planning a trip to Kettle Ck (never been there) and Oil Ck (haven't been there since in HS). Will I need a guide and are there campgrounds in the areas? I also might have to visit Penn's Ck again. The water was very low last summer. No fish but really enjoyed the area. if Pa has average summer will there be fish the end of June and will the delayed harvest be over? Thanks

Good question! I may be visiting Penn's Creek this year as well. Although it's widely popular (according to internet info) has anyone here fished it recently? Even I'd like to know if it lives up to its billing...

Try Spring Creek near State College if the Penns is running low and hot. Spring stays nice and cool and full of fish. Fished there with no problems last June when it was breaking 100 near every day. UGH!!!

The Kettle is extremely low. This picture was taken this past weekend. That guy should be standing in water up to his crotch at this time of year. The end of June is tough up here, but I wouldn't think a guide is needed. Get some maps and do a little exploring and you'll do just fine.

I fished Penns Creek last Friday. Windy as all get out!! Had to work hard for fish but managed to get into double figures. Fished nymphs. Friend did better on small streamers. Water is low on Penns, as well.

Thanks for all the info. Hopfully the rain is on its way or its going to be a long summer. Ill post dates when iam in the area and maybe we can meet to fish. Thanks Again AKBill
