I hope everyone has had the opportunity to read about the wonderful job our state police are doing. This artice and video makes me sick and makes me lose respect for those hot head cops. I know there are good cops out there i have a best friend who is one but id say most of them are a waste. My friends neighbor is friends with the guy who was beaten.

What happened to the phrase To Serve and Protect. Notice you will never see that on a car these days. Its now Law Enforcement.

Gotta agree with you.

F the police.

I on the other hand are tired of these one sided stories. Do you really believe he did nothing and they just started punching him? How mentally disable is he? I have a niece who is "mentally disabled" she is 19. He mother gets money from the government every month, She got her collage paid for by the government. (thats right, she is mentally impaired and can go to collage) and the only time she has a "mental episode" is when she does not get her way. Just an example of someone considered mentally impaired. Everyday theses guys go out and never know what is going to happen. They have split seconds to react to something. And God help them if its the wrong decision. I support them.

If you closely watch that video you will see that little bastard makes an aggressive move. You folks don't know shit...

GB you being a public servant should know better than to make a statement like that. Just as we were talking at the Boo fest about "bad" teachers.

You dual personality half whit.

He is mentally handicapped how you justify that. I am all for the police being able to do their job. Their training should have let them know that he was not right when the first seen him. When I was growing up we had a mentally handicapped kid in the neighborhood. He did not liked to be touched at all. He would freak if some just brushed up against him. The cops kick his ass for that? Where is the restraint the police are suppose to practice. ND I am sorry but the cops are wrong on this one.

You are a joke buddy. The friend clearly told the cop the kids situation before hand. OK so the kid made a so called abrupt movement and turned his head to the left. Putting him to the ground is acceptable by thethe cop but repeatedly punching and kneeing him is not at all. And than the rest is all disturbing.

So either your cousins parents are scamming the system or they are working to give her an opportunity to be go to school and isin not leftevery behind. I'm not looking to make this about how the government is fucked up and how people are always scamming. Its clearly about the facts and proof in the videos.

my point is we dont know just how handicapped he is or is not, and you cant trust the media. below are two pictures of Trevon Martin that was shot in Floridia. one the media shows you all the time is him when he was 12 the other is him and the time of his death. quite a difference wouldn't you say?images-1.jpegimages.jpeg

How the hell would they have know. Did he have a sign around his neck saying don't fuck with me I'm mental?

I will say one more thing about my rant then you all can go to it.
Back in the 70's I had a good friend shot and killed by someone that was "mental". Someone he was just trying to help.
My best friend was put into a position where he was attacked by a "mental" person and to save his life he had to shoot and kill the "mental" person.

Until you walk in the shoes of a lawman, you can't really know what there life is like.

Years ago, I was fishing at the Lakeshore Drive access to the the Ramapo.
I was parked in the cul-de-sac.

A cop car pulled up and parked right next to my truck.
He stayed there for a while.
I stopped fishing, and went up there to make sure he didn't have any issues about where I was parked.
I walked up to the cruiser...... He was FAST ASLEEP!
I went back to fishing. Two hours later, when I left, he was still asleep.

Needless to say, I had some "negative thoughts" about how my tax dollars were being used....

A few years later, my wife was having a big problem (The doctors told me she nearly died).
The police showed up less than a minute after I called 911...
By stabilizing her until the ambulance arrived, They Saved Her Life!

All is forgiven.

Man this is pretty difficult to deciper..

It seems like the officers DID use UNESSICARY brut force, no need for them to get carried away like the way they did. Seems like these guys could use a prescription for Xanax imho..

BUT

From the officers point of view the suspect APPEARED like he made an attemp to assault them. I think it just was just a coincidence he was menthally disabled.

Its hard to decide whos at fault..

I know we have all heard of retard strength. Anyone ever see what lennie did in of mice and men?!

In all reality we live in a police state. The U.S. leads the world for incarceration. It's not about justice, it's about money. It's a business, just like anything else the government runs.

I can attest to that in my neighborhood. I watched Pete the rete picked up an anvil over his head with one hand. He could be annoying at times but he was harmless.

This post makes no sense to me. Do you think the responding officer would have been there in less than a minute if he had been hiding out taking a nap next to the Ramapo? Had he been taking a nap, your wife [god forbid] might not have made it. Why is it black or white? It seems to me that we should hold in high esteem those police that are doing their best to protect and serve, but that doesn't mean that we're not allowed to be critical of those that are abusing the system.

I agree with a lot of this. I also don't think police deserve any more or less respect than anyone else. Good cops deserve respect just like a good carpenter does. Bad cops should be fired. like those in the video.....

I agree with the good cops and bad cops thing...WBD, I think you could use some more education...collage? Isn't that something you make out of cut-up paper and glue????

No seriously...I think the police overstep their boundaries more than not, but if I were frisking a total stranger, who may be dangerous, and they made an un-warranted move...and they are in hand-cuffs and defenseless..wait never-mind.....

No really seriously...I have a mentally impaired person in my family......I can't believe I can spell so well!!!!!

Remember, there are always two sides to every story, and I you and the neighbor can twist it to whatever conclusion they want....so fuck those cops and thank the one who saves your life...

I say fuck the criminals.

If you ain't doing nothing wrong, then you don't really need to worry about a beat-down. Rodney king was innocent too.

I totally agree. Cops are like any other segment of society , you have your good ones
and your total jerkoffs. The only difference is when a total jerkoff becomes a cop you have
super total jerkoff with a gun and the power to fuck with your life. That being said I have good friends
who are cops or are retired cops and they will tell you the same thing. Many when they get older mellow out and are riding it out till they can retire. It's the pumped up newbies fresh out of The academy ,full of themselves and their new found power that you usually have the problems with. That's been my experience
through the years .I had one start screaming at me and had his head inside the window of my truck during a Seatbelt and sticker roadside check last year. This 20 something NY state trooper was a complete asshole .He asked for all my paperwork and my medical card was expired by 6 days. I completely did forgot about it
,it's minor and most cops let you go or give you a warning. This clown started screaming at me and telling me all the tickets he's going to write me,and storms off back to were the other cops were standing, meanwhile my friend pulls up behind me who is friends with the seargent running the roadside
check and the seargent see's him with me and sends the clown back to me with his face beet red
and the vein in his neck popping out and hands me my paperwork back with no ticket. He screams at me
"Here's your paperwork back!!!! And nothing else understand!!!! I mean this asshole was acting like he was
my drill seargent in the marines.I just smiled and said Thank You!!!
A week later I seen the same trooper in Chester NY with his hat on and his head halfway in some older ladies car window screaming at her, This jerkoff should have never set foot in the academy in the first place.

I wasn't condoning sleeping on the job.
I was pointing out the folly of stereotyping.
Maybe not all Oakland cops are shiftless and lazy.

On the other hand, maybe a "well rested" cop, is less likely to be cranky enough to beat you up. :)

No rant this time. There was a study just published that stated that LEO's were the most sleep deprived segment of the work force. Just for instance. Most have to work in shifts from 3pm to 8 am in varying lengths, 8 to 12 hrs. Then they have to go to court after their shifts and that may take all day and multiple days in a row. They have to get their reports done after each shift before they go home. That includes accident, arrest, warrants, all types of incident reports. That alone can take hours. If they have made an arrest or multiples of that then they have to attend first appearance hearings to see if a judge will issue the warrants.

Then they go home and spend time with the kids, spouse and many work extra jobs just to pay the bills. There very few that make a salary where they can live a really good financially burden free life, not that others don't.

Long hours, ok, but buy complaints about pay. In NJ, the 2009 mediam salary was over $90,000 for police officers. And that's before overtime.

I knew this would come up but across the country that is not the case. Unions rule ask any teacher in NJ,NY,VT. There are dept's that don't allow over time, it's comp or nothing. LEO's don't come under the FLA it's the same for fire fights and public employed EMT's. Most LEO's have no union representation if they do they don't have any bargaining power.

IMO, unions have put the State of NJ deep in the hole at the expense of the tax payer. Whats your taxes on your home, 9k. Mine are $500. They also protect the bad apples no matter what union they are in.

In the metro Atlanta area they run about $2k.
