Leave It Like That Fly Pattern

AKSkim

Boston - Title Town USA
While at the RRTU Fly Tying Night this past week I got down to business
and started tying some flies for my trip south next week.

I'll be stopping off and fishing the Shenandoah Valley and the National Park.

So I tied up a few Harry Murray patterns, like the;

Mr. Rapidan

I'll also be heading into West Virginia to fish some streams, and checking on
them this afternoon Seneca Creek and South Branch of the Potomac are running
high so I better have some streamers to chuck at them like;

My Smoky Mountains version of a Picket Pin.

Then I saw a few Mr. Rapidan's that I just tied on the tail and calf body hair
for the wings when we ran out of time at the tying night.

I was looking at it and wondered if .. maybe... if I just left it at as it was and fished it?

The Leave It Like That fly.

Would I be able to fool a wild brook trout with it, what do you think?

(1) WOULD IT WORK?
(2) IS IT A LEGAL FLY PATTERN?

AK these are Beautiful ties. I have been using the Picket Pin for many years. It is a fly that everyone should have in their arsenal.

Yes to both. It looks too much like too many emerger patterns that I've seen for it to be otherwise.

Not that a Mr. Rapidan needs any improvement.

I plan on fishing a Mr. Rapidan on the RAPIDAN RIVER this coming week.

Aksim,

I love the twist on the Picket Pin (AWESOME FLY BTW) -- What is the Head -- It doesn't look like Peacock --- Also the Picket Pin isn't a Streamer it's a Wet Fly -- It alos works on the Surface --- Damn You for putting it on here LOL

Great Flies

Peace
Dan
