I need road trip advice

What’s up everyone??!! I registered w this forum to get a little help.
In about a week I’m heading up north. I’ll be heading from Ny to Northern Western Mass. and I have a few days to kill getting up there. Does anyone have any MUST stop Camping/fly fishing spots along this route or maybe slightly off this route?
I leave Tuesday night and have to arrive in Salisbury Mass. by Friday for a friends 40th bday.

Ideally I’d like to be camping somewhere with my head in a river of lake.

Someone needs to make some fishing road trip maps

plenty of options in the area. depends on how much time you have.

I've tried several times to camp with my head in a river of lake.

Some here will say it's possible, but I have never successfully bent the time-space continuum, creating a body of water that both defies classification and possesses the requisite properties necessary for me to put my head in it.

And don't bother buying that kit from REI that supposedly allows you to camp with your head in a river of lake. It doesn't work, and is a total ripoff.

So, Moosekid is dead wrong, as usual. There are not many options for this. And it doesn't depend on how much time you have.
 
Spend a day on the Farmington in CT and a day on the Deerfield in MA. Those would be my two suggestions and both are "on the way".
 
The Housy will be all smallies this time of you, just so you know. Nothing wrong with smallmouth fishing! But the other two river will have trout year round.

I don’t know. Judging from your avatar I’m sure you’ve bent the space time continuum a bunch of times. I bet you have not only had your head in a river of lake but I’m quite sure you have had your head up your own ass on more than one occasion:)
