Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

If you had just 12 flies for a year's trout fishing...

What would they be? Forget sizes, just what flies?

Here's what I use...

Since I do 98% of my fishing on the Delaware (WB,EB, MS), here is what I find I use all the time. (Somehow, I still drag around another 500 flies that I will never use...just "in Case")
1. #14 Hendrickson emrger
2. #14 rusty spinner (antron wings, material from the Book Mailer)
3. #16 sulphur cripple
4. #18 sulphur cripple
5. # 16 sumphur emerger
6. #18 sulphur emerger
7. # 18,20,22 24 bwo parachute (orange post)
8. #18,20, 22,24 rusty spinners (again antron wings..easier to see
9. # 16 ant
10. #20,22,24 trico spinners
11. # 16 tan caddis LaFontaine sparkle emerger
12. ...and for about five days the first week in June, a collection of Green Drake Duns and spinners, in case I hit the lottery on the Mainstem (its been about five years now since I have been in the right place at the right time...but I remember what it was like. Like the old joke that ends..."tonight's the night!!)

Well for me it would be the following flies:

1) Pheasent Tail Nymph tied only with Copper wire, no thread

2) Black Woolly Bugger

3) Brown Woolly Bugger

5) Ken Lockwood Streamer

6) Captain wet fly

7) Romaine wet fly

8) Blue Professor wet fly

9) The Black Turkey wet fly

10) Gravel Bed wet Fly

11) Fontianlis Fin wet fly

12) Adams Compardun Dry

These are all I need for the entire year to catch fish constantly. Now this would be boring if this had to be the list for the rest of my life. My question to all is why limit yourself.
