How about new boating reg?

On the Deschutes River in Oregon, which is somewhat similar in size to the Delaware, the law does not permit fishing from a boat....you have to be wading or on the bank. Since a lot of sections are impossible to do either, this leaves the trout a lot of protected area. As a result, there are huge numbers of trout in the river.

How about enacting a similar regulation on the Delaware during the warm summer months/low water conditions only?

A troll?

If not, I think the canoe liveries and other businesss - along with the National Park Service - which has jurisdiction on the UD might have a few choice words for you.

How about an editorial for The River Reporter regarding that topic - that should ruffle a few feathers.

Best...

CR, Border waters, 2 states, cant get them to follow a regulation with releases that is law, this would be a tough one. Plus, what would that do on the D? Much different water than the Descutes. What they should do is follow the regs in montana and just shut the river down to fishing during low flows and warm water temps.

With the Deschutes, Ive fished it numerous times.... Might be as wide as the D, but certainly much faster water. They probably dont want people taking their eye off where they are going in a boat. Rough water to boat, a decent amount of areas to wade fish.
