I am a NJ fly fisher but will be in PA this weekend, I plan on fishing French Creek in the Phoenixville area. Does anyone know this area off hand, what type of conditions should i expect with all the rain last week. Should i be bringing my waders or will i be fishing from the banks. Any info at all would be very helpful. Thanks.

Combat Fly Fisherman
Check the USGS streamflow for French Creek before you go. It floods easily and any rain we get tonight and tomorrow will cause problems given the recent high water. If you go and the water is clear enough, use tan or green caddis larvae imitations in size 16 or 18. Dead drift them with or without an indicator. Great pattern on French Creek. A lot of the fish I've caught are hanging out in undercuts below tree roots or under sweepers.
